my travel checklist

travel can be so tough on your digestion, sleep pattern, and overall immunity, not to mention add a major stressor to your day. so I find it super helpful to set my travel day up for success with certain wellness practices and products so that I never have to worry about the things in my control when those things that are out of your control go awry (delayed flight, time zone changes, the person next to you who snores, etc).

water

I try to drink as much water as I can as I get ready for the airport and on my way to the airport.

vitamin c

I take 2 LivOn Labs packets before heading out (and ideally the night before) to keep my immune system up. I bring extras with me and take them every day I travel. they go such a long way.

matcha

I usually make a matcha to-go for my Uber to the airport because I like it the way I like it, and let’s be real, the airport never has the almond milk I use or legit matcha. I also grab a Kroma matcha packet to make my own with hot water on the plane.

*use code dria15 for 15% off Kroma.

nutrition

I'm the type of person that if I show up at the airport empty-handed, I know I will end up buying snacks or eating airport foods that ultimately never make me feel good (hello gummy candy and chips). to set myself up for success, I bring a go-to stash of nutritious snacks with me.

some of my favorites:

GO MACRO or LÄRABAR protein bar
CHOMPS turkey sticks
KROMA bone broth packet and super porridge packet

TRADER JOES single almond packs

in-flight hydration

did you know that your body loses 8 ounces of water per hour while on a flight? crazy! during the flight, I try to hydrate myself as much as possible (I try for an aisle seat because of this, ha). LMNT electrolyte mix is a great add to help overcome this deficit more quickly.

I also sip on a dandelion, fennel, or detox tea (use code SAKARAxDRIA for 25% off Sakara Life through 11/27) to help with bloating.

now onto skincare.

the high altitude, change in temperature, and recirculated air is not ideal for your skin. hydration also plays a major factor. so I get all my favorite skincare products in minis and just keep them in a bag so it's an easy add to my carry on. that way my skin is taken care of without much thought.

you will never see me on a flight with any makeup on. it is best to do your morning skincare routine with some extra focus on products with hyaluronic acid to try and lock in as much moisture as possible. in flight, I always start with a cleanser face wipe. then I usually throw on some de-puff eye masks because they are easy and I need all the de-puffing help I can get. if I am getting serious, I will do a full sheet mask. post masks I do toning pads, then my serum and a thick layer of moisturizer. if it's a longer flight, I take advantage of the time to use my Lyma laser since it is so easy to use while you watch a movie or listen to a podcast. you don’t need to apply any special gel to use it; I just use it post serum or moisturizer or apply some face oil. I will also use my sculpt bar before landing to depuff. throughout the flight, I am constantly spraying an elixir spray and applying lip moisturizer to add more hydration. hand cream is another product I have on hand because even my hands get dry.

when you get to your destination, a first step should be a full cleanse of the face. you want to make sure no breakouts form and get that moisture back into your skin.

go-to in-flight skincare:

CAUDALIE beauty elixir
AQUAPHOR lip protectant
NEOM hand balm

attire

I almost always travel in sneakers and layer up with a t-shirt, sweater, and jacket because temperature can be so temperamental on flights. I like traveling in tighter fitting leggings to help promote circulation on my bottom half.

sample travel outfit:

SPANX high waisted leggings
REBECCA MINKOFF leather jacket
ALEX MILL sweater
SOLD OUT tank top
NEW BALANCE sneakers or ADIDAS sambas

this travel bag is the ultimate travel bag in my book. my friend Callie gets all the credit for the rec here. we traveled to Costa Rica together, she was using it, and I immediately bought it. it has a pass-through sleeve so it fits over your roller luggage and a bottom pocket to fit extra shoes easily with removal padded inserts for maximum organization. I won’t travel without it anymore. it's also super affordable and can be folded down for easy storage.
